The BRITE-Constellation Ground Based Observations Team (GBOT) was established with the aim to coordinate ground-based observing efforts for BRITE-Constellation target stars, to provide a platform for an exchange of information, to give information for BRITE scientists which additional data are available and how they can be accessed.

Since January 2013, BRITE-Constellation targets have been included in several ground-based observing programmes at different telescopes and have supported the scientific interpretation of the BRITE data.

I will give a short overview of the past and ongoing GBOT activities and discuss its role in the future.
